Double Page Spread Textual Analysis (2)

On this double page spread we clearly see the representation of the R'n'B genre. The image of the artist is stood on his own posing in a very 'gangster like' way by folding his arms but holding is face in a posing manner. We can also identify the genre by the costume of the artist as he is wearing the sterotypical slouched/baggy jeans accomapnied by a plain white round necked tshirt and a pair of high top trainers which is very stereotypical of this music genre. The image is not overly dominant on this double page spread as it only takes up one of the pages allowing the article to consume the other.

The colours used in the text are all also fairly stereotypical for the R'n'B genre with the use of red and black. These colours work well together and connote the idea of excitement and also violence which is what the majority of songs are based on within this genre. The font of the masthead is very stencil like and slightly resembles the idea of graffiti which is also very much related to the R'n'B/Hip Hop theme of music.

This font is used throughout the article that takes up half of this double page spread and his on a plain white background in order for us to be able to see the black and red text. The masthead is also very suggestive of what the the article is about due to the image of the artist as well as the fact we see this article in a music magazine.
